Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is an action-adventure game released for the Nintendo Wii in 2007. It is also the third main installment of the Metroid Prime series. The story follows bounty hunter Samus Aran as she goes after space pirates after they launched an attack. During the struggle, Samus and her fellow bounty hunters become infected with Phazon by her doppelgänger Dark Samus. Samus loses contact with the other hunters, and she tries to find out what happened to them. However, the Phazon continues to corrupt her as the story progresses. She tries to prevent the Phazon from spreading to other planets while dealing with what it's doing to her. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption received positive reviews from critics, and Metroid Prime 4 is currently in development for the Nintendo Switch.

PAPER MARIO

IPB Image

Paper Mario is an RPG released for the Nintendo 64 in 2000 in Japan before becoming available worldwide in 2001. The story is similar to other Mario games: Mario must recuse Princess Peach from Bowser. In order to rescue Princess Peach in this installment, Mario must first find the Star Spirits to negate the effects of the Star Rod (which was stolen by Bowser). As for the game play, the player (as Mario) must solve puzzles and defeat bad guys in a turn-based battle system. Paper Mario was critically acclaimed and can often be found on several "Best Nintendo Games Ever" lists. I sadly have not played this game before, but I do know of its popularity. Sorry to any fans for this elimination.

SUIKODEN

IPB Image

Suikoden is an RPG based on a classic Chinese novel called Shui Hu Zhuan. The story explores themes such as politics, corruption, and revolution. Each game involves a coup d'état and a showdown against a corrupt power holder. The setting is also in a fictional world, but rich with detail. As for the game play, the player has control of a battle party of up to six characters. The player must defeat other enemies with his or her team with turn-based battles. This seems like an interesting game, but I haven't heard of it before now. Sorry to any fans for its elimination.
